Aggregated results for candidates completing Praxis Core exams can be found at: To be formally accepted into the Educator Preparation program, candidates must pass the Praxis Core tests in reading (state benchmark of 156), writing (state benchmark of 163), and math (state benchmark of 150). The program will seek Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation upon the next review cycle. The Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education (BSED) is currently accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Nebraska State Department of Education. Student teaching is the capstone experience. The student teaching experience is an all-day, all semester experience in a metropolitan area school.

The practicum experiences are embedded in identified professional courses. FIELD EXPERIENCESĪll candidates must meet the College of Education requirements for classroom practicums prior to clinical practice (student teaching). Academic advisors are assigned to students and we encourage you to consult with your advisor regularly for program information and planning. The College provides academic advising and support to students. Candidates may choose from several program options. A minimum of 120 credits hours with a minimum GPA of 2.75 are required to graduate from the College of Education. The secondary major is designed to prepare candidates to meet Nebraska Department of Education requirements for teacher certification.
